Good all round reel for stripers and salt water – I got this reel for fishing stripers. I look around and found this Daiwa reel. Has a real good drag. Great price. Got the 5000 series. Also used it for crab snare fishing. Worked great.

Reliablity Comfort Value – I have used this underspin XD as well as the other underspin models made by DAIWA. This smooth action and retrieve is ideal for Crappie. I personally prefer to combine it with a 5/6 Fly Rod.

It works. Not as large as I thought. – Spool not big but what can one expect, even with the title, XD, Drag is easy to adjust. but reel action and rod are not super smooth.

Bought a couple of 5’6″ for my 7 and 10 yr olds and a 6’6″ as a back up and for friends that come along. They are lightweight but can handle heavier tackle.
