Product Information
Wasn?t it the Big and Tall Gazzette, that called our Kodiak the XL (or excel?) of sleeping bags? This 0? mummy bag has a full 66? of shoulder girth and 41? of foot girth to fit any bear sized person. 30 oz. of down fill this bag with 7? of loft and the continuous baffles keep the bag versatile as the weather changes. Both the draft tube and full down collar are 3-dimensionally sewn and amply filled with down. The MicroLite XP shell makes this bag stand firm against any weather. All this with a total weight of only 2 lbs. 12 oz.
Not only is the Western Mountaineering Kodiak Gore WindStopper Sleeping Bag big enough to fit a bear-sized camper comfortably, but it's also warm enough to keep one hibernating all night long. Constructed with just over 30-ounces of lightweight, 850-fill goose down insulation (complete with seven-inch loft), this bag assures a toasty night's sleep for backpackers looking to cut weight when adventuring in the frosty outdoors. Not to mention, the Gore Windstopper fabric, combined with the down-filled draft tube, prevents frigid, howling winds from piercing your cozy slumber. And when you rouse from a dreamy night's sleep in the morning, toss your bag into the included stuff sack, easily store it in your pack, and hit the trail towards your next site.

Excellent bag – I have owned several down sleeping bags, and this is by far the best. I purchased it to replace a Marmot 15 degree bag that actually kept me warm into the high 20’s.
Cliveous R. –
Outstanding Sleeping Bag – First let me say that I own several Western Mountaineering Products and I love this brand-They get it right! The best materials and top grade Goose Down. Made in the USA-,,I purchased this.
David –
Supreme quality & comfort – Now in my 60s, I like a little more comfort & roominess in a sleeping bag. The Badger is a dream & perfect for 3-season use in the high Rockies – especially so for open air camping which I.
Todd –
There is no bad western mountaineering bag! – This is a super warm bag, if you aren’t familiar with their bags these are one of the few sleeping bag companies that when they say 0 degree, they mean it! It’s also has more room in the shoulder.
Rob –
Amazing bag — expensive but worth every penny. – I bought this bag a couple of years ago and have used it a handful of times winter camping here in chilly New England. This bag lofts up to an almost ridiculous height, given its compressibility.
Zachary –
Warm and Light – Bought this as an upgrade from my well used cat’s meow. I was a little worried about 2.5 weeks of daily use/packing because of the down, but this bag was a champ.
John –
This is an excellent bag… – What the product description does not tell you is that Western Mountaineering stands behind their products 100%. A friend of mine has had one of their bags for 20 years and they have restuffed.
Stephen –
Best Bag Around! Well Worth the Money – I was looking for a good cold weather bag to use for winter backpacking, and the written and word of mouth reviews were very good. I decided to spend the extra money, and I am glad I did.
JeffM –
Warmest 0 bag ever – I love this thing you can never go wrong with western bags but this guy will have you feeling like its summer in your bag!!.
ehembergdvm –
Great bag for early season high Sierra cold!! – I took this bag on the JMT in early June which is a transitional season. At low altitude I would leave the footbox zipped and use it like a quilt.
Paulyboy –
Quality. Light. Perfect. – Spent more time picking this back than my last car! Ended up between Feathered Friends or WM. Both quality products. Went with this as they offered a 7′ version.
SheepHunter –
Excellent – I bought this bag for a sheep hunt in Alaska. It was very comfortable and kept me warm and dry in wet conditions.
Mike –
Incredible Quality – Just bought the 6’6″ Western Mountaineering Badger MF 15 degree bag. I’m 6’3″ and its amazingly roomy. The quality of workmanship is over the top.
Condor –
Yummy Warmth – I purchased this bag in the early Fall of 2017, and I have used it in multiple overnight backpacking trips with the lows at the 20 degree mark paired with my sleep clothes and a Therm- a-rest.
Imdiel –
Beautiful Workmanship – I haven’t used it yet but the down is plentiful and the workmanship is great. Made is the USA and hand signed by the people that sewed it together!.
Parker –
Simply the best – There is a reason that Western Mountaineering bags are considered to be among the best bags money can buy. For years I kept buying cheaper bags as I didn’t want to pay the premium to get a.
